Doreen Woodward, Chief Executive
New Directions Rugby Ltd
Neil worked with our charity, New Directions for a short period as a supported housing advisor to carry out an in depth review of our supported housing scheme and to advise the management team following his review. He is professional, flexible, very thorough, and delivered on our detailed remit to him.
His experience and knowledge has been very beneficial to our team and we will implement some suggestions from Neil that will make lasting improvements in our service. We would be happy to recommend him to other organisations
Andy Meakin, Supporting People Manager
Cheshire West and Chester Council
Neil worked with my team to understand our vision, values, and strategic objectives. I have been impressed by the way in which Neil has taken these ideas forward using initiative and tenacity to apply the principles in an operational setting. It is my belief that Neil’s developments will lead to long-term improvements in efficiency for the local authority and outcomes for our customers. There have been some really positive results already of which Neil can be justifiably proud.

Many people and organisations pay lip service to the idea of customer service but Neil’s commitment to it is absolute and genuine. When it comes to handling complaints, Neil is tireless and forensic in his pursuit of the truth and constructive in proposing fair solutions to problems rather than focusing on the apportioning of blame.
Linda Smith, Head of Housing Support
Wolverhampton City Council
During 2012 for ten months on a fixed term contract, Neil worked for Wolverhampton City Council Housing Support Division as the Co-ordinator of Housing Outreach and Support Services for adults aged under 60 and young people from aged 16 including homeless 16/17 year olds.
Neil successfully managed a large team which had experienced some difficulties prior to his appointment. He has made some significant changes in working practices which has resulted in a motivated, high-performing team which is successfully delivering high quality support to service users and achieving its outcomes of assisting vulnerable people to sustain their tenancies, live independently with quality of life for as long as possible and preventing homelessness.
Neil has been a great support to the wider management team and tackled some difficult areas to achieve results through negotiation and networking skills. He has demonstrated a very mature and fair approach to wide-ranging issues, including disciplinaries and complaints, and always endeavours to present solutions. He has contributed to some major procedural and structural changes in the Community Directorate.
Neil’s time-keeping, attendance and reliability have been 100%. I would definitely employ him again if the opportunity was ever to arise. He was very well respected by the team of staff and colleagues across the organisation.
